Why this exists

Somebody always remembers the rule differently. The box is open, the timer is running, and the only sources online are a forum thread from 2009 and a scanned PDF that will not load on a phone.

Find The Rules is an attempt to be the page you actually want at that moment: the rules, written clearly, with the bit people argue about called out explicitly.

How entries are written

Every entry starts as an edited article rather than an open wiki page. One voice, one structure, and a human between a submission and the published page. Open wikis drift and contradict themselves; a reference you use to settle an argument cannot afford that.

Where a governing body publishes official rules, we link to it in the sidebar and defer to it. Where no such body exists — which is true of most folk and party games — we say so plainly rather than inventing an authority.

Most entries carry a commonly argued section. It is the most useful part of the page and usually the reason you came.

Corrections

If something here is wrong, it is worth thirty seconds to tell us. No account, no email address required. Send a correction and an editor will check it against sources.
